Pre-Operative Evaluations
Your dentist will present the option of dental sedation and if you choose to proceed, our office will contact you to review the planned treatment and decide if you are a candidate for dental treatment under sedation.
An Appointment will be arranged between our and your dental office. We will contact you to complete your paperwork with a brief interview over the phone. The day of the appointment you will meet your dental anesthesiologist in person at your dental office location.
While the treatment
During the procedure the dentist anesthesiologist will be constantly monitoring your blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature and capnography. Medication will be selected and administered in a safety and comfortable environment.
Anesthetic Plan
Based on the Past Medical, Social and Dental History the patient will receive a customized anesthesia treatment plan. The dentist anesthesiologist will contact and interview the patient to complete the preoperative process before the day of the appointment
Children are usually scared of the dentist and that’s why they are great candidates for in-office anesthesia. Sedation or general anesthesia is useful combined with dental treatment to calm the fear or phobia in a child. Usually these feelings come from the pain during the local anesthesia injection or the unknown which sometimes could be traumatic. General anesthesia or sedation will safely alleviate and control the fear and anxiety provoked by these factors. Most of our children of our children just need one appointment to complete their necessary dental treatment.
Patients with special needs due to the physical, medical, developmental or cognitive conditions require special considerations when requiring dental treatment. Dental anesthesia offers these patients to complete their treatment in a safe and comfortable manner where they will receive compassionate and understanding care. We accommodate to each patient and their needs as we tailor the anesthesia plan for each special case.
General anesthesia or sedation is commonly used to facilitate dental treatment on patients with anxiety or challenging behavior. Many patients will benefit from dental anesthesia using it to relieve anxiety, pain, fear, or discomfort during procedures. We can help our patients to overcome all these factors conveniently in their dental office environment making their treatment a pleasant one.
Our doctors are available seven days a week, and all holidays. We offer special service to all dentists in Puerto Rico.
